This is a bunch of graphics I created for a t-shirt design. The theme was tattoos and I’m a big fan of vintage tattoos which explains the skulls.
The knife through the skull graphic is an adaptation of the old WWII ‘Who Dares Wins’ Tattoo which I think is really cool.
The graphics weren’t meant to be tattoo realistic it was more the idea and composition of the tattoo that interested me.
I’ve included lots of different elements here which can be used and worked on in different ways.
There’s an outline of the tattoo which you can use the LIVE PAINT bucket tool in Adobe Illustrator to colour however you like.
There’s also a grouped composition of the tattoo which you can pick apart and play around with.
The skull was created from a photograph I took of a model skull and the dagger was created from reference photos.
