Animated Moire Pattern Generator

Animated Moire Pattern Generator

Moire Pattern is the name given to the secondary pattern effect created when two identical (usually transparent) patterns on a flat or curved surface (such as closely spaced straight lines drawn radiating from a point or taking the form of a grid) are overlaid while displaced or rotated a small amount from one another.

These effects were widely used by light shows in the early 70’s, using adapted slide projectors with small clock motors and special effect cartridges with 2 transparent superimposed patterns, rotating one of the transparencies against the other.

With these actions you can easily recreate this effect using the included line shapes (or you can use your own), and automatically create animations for each effect.

The final results can be either exported as animated gifs or movie files.

Easily change the framerate afterwards if you find they run too slow or fast.

  • 24 Main actions: 1 B/W, single & double changing colours for each effect
  • 6 Extra Adjustment actions changing framerate & colour sequences
  • 2000×2000 px results
  • Organised layers that you can easily tweak afterwards
  • Well documented with illustrated PDF help file

  • 1 ATN action file with 30 actions
  • 1 CSH custom shapes file with line shapes
  • 1 PDF file with fully illustrated instructions

Works on English versions of Photoshop.

Note: The animation actions will only work in CS6 Extended Edition or CC versions of Photoshop.
